ABOUT MNT

Mainland AI engineering × understanding of the Hong Kong education system.

That intersection is narrow. Local education companies can’t build a formalised marking engine; mainland AI companies don’t understand Hong Kong’s curriculum standards and marking schemes. MNT stands between the two — the landing point of twenty-odd years of cross-market practice, and the reason we serve only Hong Kong education.

Who we are

MNT is operated by Micro Neo Technology International Limited, registered and headquartered in Hong Kong. For over twenty years our work has been making systems land for organisations in media, education, finance, social platforms and retail — not producing reports, but getting things running.

Education was one of those lines, and the one that stayed. The reason is simple: Hong Kong’s education system has an explicit, public, traceable set of official standards. That is precisely where a formalised system performs best, and precisely what a general-purpose AI product handles worst.

Today MNT does one thing: build a three-layer, interlocking AI teaching system for Hong Kong’s tutorial schools, independent tutors and education institutions. The cross-border capability wasn’t abandoned — it became the precondition: mainland AI engineering, plus a real grasp of Hong Kong curriculum standards and marking schemes.

A small team that understands both the assessment system and the engineering. We are not large — which is exactly why we work in one market.

Market choice

Why we deliberately serve only Hong Kong.

A general-purpose product is slightly wrong in every market. A product built for one market has no substitute inside it. We chose the latter.

REASON ONE

Marking schemes don’t generalise

The marking logic of Hong Kong’s assessment system differs from other exams. Anchoring it is done subject by subject, question by question — and once done, it only works here.

REASON TWO

The language environment is threefold

Cantonese in the classroom, traditional characters on the page, English in the exam. A system that holds all three isn’t produced by translating an interface.

REASON THREE

Channel habits are already settled

Hong Kong parents are on WhatsApp. That determines the whole delivery layer’s architecture; another market would mean rebuilding it.

REASON FOUR

A small market has room for depth

Hong Kong isn’t large enough to attract international vendors to this depth — which is exactly the ground we can hold.

Our values

Three of them, unchanged. They are written here so you can hold us to them.

VALUE ONE
Honesty over comfort.

When something is a bad idea, when you don’t need us, when a simpler path exists — we say so. It isn’t pleasant in the room, but trust compounds.

VALUE TWO
Pragmatism over theory.

A recommendation that never becomes a working product is just an opinion. We stay until it actually runs, rather than delivering a document and leaving.

VALUE THREE
Long-term relationships over transactions.

We would rather turn down a project that shouldn’t close. Keeping a reluctant client costs far more than letting one go.

The three rules written into the code

Values are how we work; these three are product specification. Institutions can read them as contract terms.

RULE ONE

The same paper, marked a hundred times, gives the same result.

RULE TWO

Model answers come from official marking schemes, not generated on the spot.

RULE THREE

When it can’t be judged, the output is “undetermined” — never charged to the student.

Work we don’t take

Stating the boundary saves each side a month.

Projects outside the Hong Kong assessment system

We don’t work on other examination systems. Not because we can’t, but because we can’t reach the same depth.

Buying a question bank or content licence

If ready-made questions are what you want, cheaper options exist. Our value is in the engineering, not the inventory.

Institutions wanting fully automatic marking

If the goal is to remove tutor review entirely, our system doesn’t support it by design and the engagement would be painful.

A one-off AI transformation report

We don’t produce strategy reports. Without something that runs, the report is just an opinion.

First work out whether we can help. Then talk solutions.

A free 45-minute consultation, no deck. If your problem shouldn’t be solved with our system, we’ll say so plainly and try to point you somewhere.
