Before HKU Information Day: prepare course questions and check scoring

For the 24 October visit, confirm event arrangements and bring your subject profile. Grade conversion, subject weighting and interview requirements need separate checks.

/ 01Lead story

HKU scoring: 5** converts to 8.5 — keep both stars

HKU’s JUPAS page lists Level 5 as 5.5 points, 5* as 7 and 5** as 8.5. Programmes have their own subject selection and weighting; a converted score is not an offer prediction.

What you can do:Bring your subject profile and ask which scoring formula applies to your chosen programme.

Forms available · 17 Oct–17 Nov 2026

DBS Grade 7 application information is available

The school publishes a period for obtaining forms and gives academic results a 60% selection weighting. That is a weighting, not an admission score threshold.

What you can do:Download the complete application pack and check the documents and submission arrangements.

/ 03Editorial perspective

Take three kinds of questions, not just a target score

Ask about the course: compulsory subjects, electives and placements, and how they fit your interests. Then ask about admission: subject requirements, scoring and interviews for your entry year and qualification.

Finally, compare related programmes. Historical scores can provide context but cannot guarantee this year’s result. Keep the university’s answers alongside the official programme information.
